Evergreen actively supports an orphanage ministry project in Karai Kenya. This is a Christ centered ministry serving displaced children. Many of these children have become orphans due to the severe HIV/AIDS epidemic which has stolen their parents away from them.
Currently we support thirty kids in a shelter facility as well as many kids who are living with extended family in the local area. The kids are provided with loving staff who care for them and make sure all their basic needs are met, while also sharing the love and teachings of Jesus Christ. Many kids have been introduced to their adoptive dad (God the Father) through this ministry.
Recently the orphanage project has begun to harvest 3 acres of land, as well as provide sheep and livestock to many families who can begin making a business out of the gift.
Evergreen Covenant Church supports five orphans as a congregation, as well as many in the congregation supporting an orphan on a monthly basis. The church has also provided many sets of sheep to families that can be used to make an ongoing income.
