In this six week series we’ll talk about the biblical perspective on encountering strangers. We’ll look at how people sometimes encountered angels and even God without immediately realizing it. Jesus tells us that the way we engage strangers and those in need is the way we encounter him. We’ll also talk about our identity and history as being strangers and sojourners as well as the importance of learning from the stranger.
You haven’t finished your life story. What will you do with the blank pages? The choices you make today will lead you one way or another—but when you know who to trust, you’ll always be headed in the Divine Direction.
In this series based on Covenant pastor Craig Groeschel’s book, Divine Direction, you will learn how to seek God’s will for your life and how He cares more about who you are than what you do.
This week we begin a new three week series entitled “Let Us”. The first message is “Let us Enter His Rest”. The rest we are invited to enter isn’t something reserved for when this life is over, but it is a rest we can begin enjoying now. In fact, one of the most spiritual things we can do is ‘rest’. This is a counter-cultural message that will take discipline to embrace and practice.
In this message we’ll be taking a look at our dark side. Jesus didn’t come to save the world because we were doing alright on our own. No, the world is a very broken place and that brokenness is very personal. Our brokenness often results in ‘sin’. It’s easy to focus on the brokenness of the world around us, but the call to confession is a call to look within. In this message we’ll be called to an inner life of examination and better understanding the shadow side of sin, which with the power of Christ in us, we will overcome.
