Mark 1:9-13 “Led through the Wilderness”

When Jesus, the Hope of the World, comes, the Spirit leads him into
the Wilderness. We might have expected that God’s affirmation of Jesus
and the accompaniment of the Spirit would have led him to something
that looked more like ‘success.’ But it is in the wilderness, away
from all fanfare, that Jesus faces some of his greatest battles and
successes. This life is our wilderness and it is also the place where
we face our greatest battles. The Spirit accompanies us as well and we
will have great successes that will be unknown to must accept God and
ourselves. Even still, what we live through here shapes and forms us
for all of Eternity.
