Message: 2 Samuel 5:1-5 “David’s Rule”

            David was considered ‘a man after God’s own heart.’ In contrast to Saul, who ruled toward his own gain, David understood God’s Rule alone mattered and trusted God to work in him and through him. David teaches us what it means to be adopted by God, seek to allow God’s Way to live through us, and to place our Trust in him rather than ourselves. Jesus is the ultimate redefinition of what it means to let God have his way in and through us, and it looks nothing like the world’s grasping for power.
