Message: Psalm 122 “David & Unity”

David was the first person who truly united the twelve tribes of Israel. This was because he understood the thing that brought them together was their Faith in the One True God. He did not cling to his identity as a member of the southern tribes. Instead, he moved to the center, between the tribes, and focused on what was most central: their shared faith. Jesus reveals this same principle in a conversation with a woman by a well in the region of Samaria. She asks a question about the right location for worship and Jesus ultimately points to himself as the center of worship. What binds us together is found in a person, not on either side of an issue. As we take communion, we gather around the person of Christ.
