Message: Mark 6:30-44 “Sheep without a Shepherd”
As the time of Moses’ death drew near, he prayed that God would send another to shepherd the people. Over hundreds of years, this anticipation grew and further prophecies and clues were revealed that pointed to a coming Messiah. Many tried to set claim to kingship, but all fell short of anything near the expectation of one who would be greater than Moses. In our passage today, we’ll discover where and how this fulfillment was fully revealed in the miraculous feeding of the 5,000 and what it means for our own ‘search.’
