Luke 1:26-38 “The Union of God with Humanity”

That God exists as Trinity means He is an inherently relational being. He literally has relationship within Himself and has communicated that to humanity as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is because God is relational that we are relational, because we are made in the image of God. Therefore, ‘to be’ is ‘to be relational.’ In becoming human, God has identified Himself with humanity and humanity with Himself. He has invited humanity into the divine union that exists eternally within Himself. Before everything else, salvation is the Union of God with Humanity. Some of the ancients described this as “Theosis.”
