Message: Mark 13:1-4, 32-37 “The Night Watchman”
Standing before Herod’s renovated Temple, the disciples marvel at the magnificence of what men have made. Jesus gives them a sobering glimpse into the destructiveness of humanity by telling them what men will do to both the Temple and the world. Unfortunately, humanity seems bent on self-destruction, in which God will one day intervene to save us from ourselves. Jesus points to his second-coming, which will look very different than his first, and tells us to set our eyes and our lives toward that day.
