Sermon Title: “Villains of the Bible: Herod the Great”
Sermon Passage: Matthew 2:1-18
Herod the Great is remembered today in large part because of the
incredible building projects he carried out. The remains of many of
these works can still be seen today throughout the Land of Israel. In
his lifetime, Herod was seeking to build both a name and a kingdom for
himself. While he is ‘remembered,’ his kingdom is long gone, with only
ancient ruins remaining. In this message we’ll explore how ‘kingdom
building’ made Herod the Great one of the ‘Villains of the Bible.’
