Sermon Passage: 1 Kings 21:1-14

This week we look at the biblical villain’s Jezebel and Ahab. The sin
we are warned against here is the sin of misusing power and neglecting
justice. Power is to be used to promote just laws and practices, not
to justify bad behavior. Jesus is the ultimate Teacher and example of
how God intends us to use our power. Rather than “Lord it over others”
we are to become servants, coming alongside those who are most
powerless and neglected in society. Our judgments will be judged by
God Himself.
