Sermon Passage: Mark 6:14-29

Message Title: Villains of the Bible: Herodias

Has anyone ever confronted you with something that was difficult to
receive? Often times our first reaction is to become defensive. We
wonder who that person thinks they are and what right they have to
find fault in us. In our defensiveness, we may even find fault with
them and even lash out. This was Herodias’ sin when she devised a plan
to have John the Baptist beheaded, and it is a sin that we are all
very susceptible to, even if we do not go as far as she does.
