Message: “Staying Awake to What Matters Most”
Scripture: Mark 14:32-42
In Mark 14:32-42, Jesus’ experience in Gethsemane serves as a call to spiritual wakefulness, urging us to resist the temptation to “sleep through” what truly matters in life: our relationship with God, our spiritual formation, and our unique calling. Just as the disciples failed to stay alert in Jesus’ critical hour, we too risk drifting through an unintentional life, missing opportunities for growth and the deep fulfillment found in actively pursuing God’s purposes. By heeding Jesus’ call to “watch and pray,” we can cultivate a life of intentionality, rooted in connection with God, shaped by His Spirit, and directed towards the specific ministry He has created for us, ultimately leading to true and lasting joy.
