Hunger

Message: “Hunger” Genesis 4:2–7 & Matthew 18:8–9

In this Lenten season, we are stepping into the silence of the wilderness to confront the “8 Thoughts”—ancient patterns of the heart that distort our desires and devour our peace. Drawing from the wisdom of the 4th-century Desert Mothers and Fathers, we explore how vices like gluttony and pride are not just moral failings, but functional “disorders” that “crouch at the door” of our lives. Rather than a message of shame, this is an invitation to a spiritual audit, moving from being consumed by our habits to being restored by Christ. We will learn to trade the hunger of sin for the abundant life of the “True Human,” discovering practical, small steps toward the wholeness and holiness we were created for.
